Program Notes:

For the past three years, I've written a set of twelve piano preludes in the early months of the year. When thinking of other sets of twelve to draw on for inspiration the Chinese Zodiac came to mind, particularly given my friend George's interest in Chinese language and culture. Each prelude draws loose inspiration from the animal, and each is conceived as some sort of dance.
