Private Lessons

Joe has extensive experience working with aspiring clarinetists. In high school, he was involved with a student tutoring program where he taught weekly lessons to beginning clarinetists in fourth to sixth grade. He has also coached several high school students on District and All-State music, leading to successful auditions. While at Eastman, he has participated in the Eastman Community Music School's "Practice Buddies" program, meeting biweekly with middle and high school students to work on material assigned by their professional teachers.

Inspired by the Jump Right In! method developed by Gordon, Grunow, and Azzara, Joe's teaching approach focuses on developing the complete musician. While incorporating traditional scales, etudes, and repertoire, lessons also focus on the development of audiation through singing, improvisation, and composition

Please contact Joe if you are interested in private lessons. He is also happy to come into schools to have workshops with clarinet sections.
