I have been close friends with Turi Scilipoti for over 13 years now and we have grown close in a way I never dared to dream when we first met at Eastman. The past four summers, I have had the privilege of joining Turi and his family at their lake house on Lake George. It is a beautiful space to exist in, and one of the few places I can truly relax and forget the outside world.
Turi is my favorite flutist to play with, and when I'm writing for flute it's his sound that I hear in my head. I wrote another set of miniatures for him as a Christmas gift.
