Program Notes:

While I was in the beginning stages of programming my basset horn recital in spring 2018, I briefly thought that UIUC had access to four basset horns. Ultimately, we only had three, but it inspired the idea of this transcription. In 2021, I was speaking with Tim Coffey who thought that Ithaca College had access to three basset horns which, combined with the one I had just purchased, would get us to four. I was once again inspired - this time to realize the transcription - but it turned out that Ithaca only had two, leaving the performance of such a masterwork once again unrealized!
